Italy comes to SRQ

I had the pleasure to attend Bavaro's Pizza Media Night in downtown Sarasota yesterday.

The restaurant brings a modern yet historic feel. Everything from fire pits and local art outside to amazing chandeliers and a gorgeous copper pizza oven. I was blown away how beautiful the restaurant was put together. The ambiance surely adds to the amazing dishes they serve.

First we started off with the Caprese Martini. How fun was that drink! If you love martinis and love caprese I highly recommend you choosing this as your drink of choice!

I was then able to try a bunch of the dishes that will be served at Bavaro's Pizza when they officially open.

Here is a line-up of the dishes I tried!

Verde Salad (Arugula, cherry tomato, shaved parmigiano reggiano, lemon, sea salt, extra-virgin olive oil)

Antipasto Italiano (prosciutto di parma, mortadella, soppressata, mixed olives, provolone piccante, asiago, parmigiano reggiano)

Avocado Bruschetta

Margherita Pizza (san marzano tomato, fior de latte, parmigiano reggiano, basil, extra virgin olive oil)

Burratta Pizza (black truffle burratta, raosted cherry tomatoes, arugula, parmigiano reggiano, garlic, sea salt, extra virgin olive oil)

Tre-Carne Pizza (san marzano tomato, fior de latte, soppressata, prosciutto cotto, spicy italian sausage, basil, extra-virgin olive oil)

Penne Alla Vodka (penne pasta with san marzano tomato, pancetta, onion, panna)

Tagliatelle Bolognese (homemade tagliatelle pasta in bolognese or 50/50 sauce)

Bistecca (charbroiled 12oz. New York Strip with roasted potatoes over arugula and cherry tomato, sea salt, extra virgin olive oil)

Pesce (Mahi Mahi)

Everything was so amazing and it is hard for me to pick a favorite dish to be honest. All of the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful!

After we were done sampling all of the delicious appetizers and entrees it was time to move on to the desserts.

Nutella Pizza, Cannoli and Tiramisu we all got to sample and let me tell you! I would order all three desserts when I go back! I have never had Nutella Pizza before it was so fun and the Tiramisu is one of the best I have ever had!

Bavaro's Pizza is the first traditional Neapolitan Pizzeria in the state of Florida with locations in Tampa, Tampa-Airport, St. Pete & now in beautiful downtown Sarasota!☀️

There official grand opening for the Sarasota location is this Friday- May 17th (27 Fletcher Ave. Sarasota, Florida 34237) for the public so mark your calendars! I will definitely be back this weekend for some more amazing eats! Bavaro's Pizza SRQ will definitely be my new happy hour and date night spot. When you go make sure to tell them Laurie Livin Life sent ya!
