Great seafood, amazing views and a fun atmosphere? What gets better than that!
If you are a local to Sarasota you probably have heard of Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant & Oyster Bar!
I have gone to this restaurant since I moved down here 5 years ago. They always have fresh seafood and a great happy hour. The restaurant has been voted Best Raw Bar & Seafood Restaurant for 12 years in a row!
I was invited in recently to test out there new menu that will be launching soon.
Let me tell you my friends this menu is a must try!
We started off the night with the Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita (gold tequila, orange liqueur, fresh citrus juices, chili pepper sugar). The margarita was not too spicy or acidic which was great! It was definitely one of my favorite margaritas I have ever had.
For food we began with the Caribbean Chopped Salad (grilled jumbo shrimp, vine-ripe tomatoes, english cucumber, avocado, radish, avocado citrus vinaigrette) and the Hawaiian Lobster Cocktail (cold water lobster, citrus vinaigrette). Both of these dishes were my favorite of the night. So many flavors and I was in love withe the citrus vinaigrette that was used on both meals.
Next up was the Crab Dip (lump blue crab meat, fontina corn fondue) and the Whole Belly Clam Sandwich (crispy New England whole belly clams). I have never had a whole belly clam sandwich before and it blew me out of the water! So much flavor and it was lightly fried not too much so you could enjoy all of the flavors the sandwich had to offer.
Linquini & Clams (middle neck clams, New England whole belly clams, lemon garlic chardonnay broth) was up next on our list and this dish has always been one of my all time favorites at other restaurants. I loved how the broth was different from others I have had in the past. The lemon garlic truly made the whole dish.
Our last two dishes on the night were the Tempura Lobster Mac & Cheese (cold water lobster, smoked gouda english cheddar mac & cheese) and the King's Seafood Boil (Alaskan king crab, cold water lobster, peel & eat shrimp, mussels, corn on the cob, red skin potatoes, garlic bread, Maryland spice garlic butter). If you have been following for awhile you know I am a huge mac & cheese fan and this dish did not disappoint. The gouda was so rich and flavorful. I loved it! The seafood boil was full of flavor and I loved how it came out on a giant boat. Such a fun dish to order on a date or with a group of friends.
We ended the night with the Key Lime Pie drink (vanilla vodka, key lime, vanilla cream, graham cracker crumbs). If you are a key lime pie fan don't walk run to Phillippi Creek for this amazing drink. Definitely a great way to end your night or heck even begin it after a day in the Florida sun.
My overall experience at Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant & Oyster Bar was amazing as always. Big thanks to Chef Judi Gallagher for extending the invite to preview you this new fabulous menu.
Make sure to head on over there for lunch, happy hour or dinner and tell Laurie Livin Life sent ya!
