I had the pleasure of attending the Rhone Valley Wine Tasting Dinner at C'est La Vie - University Park.
The tasting included four glasses of wine and four courses. One of the best parts was the education we received on Rhone Valley and the background of how their food and wine is made.
I enjoyed the Corsica Wine Tasting so much I could not wait to try all of the delicious wines and food Rhone Valley had to offer!
First was the appetizer which was a Gougère (small pastry puff with cheese) and was paired with a Myro: an aperitif from Ardeche cocktail. Both were a great way to start the tasting!
First main course was Gratinee Lyonnaise (onion soup from Lyon) and was paired with a glass of La Vieille Ferme, Lubeyron, White. I am a huge onion soup fan and this one was out of this world. So much flavor! The wine was a perfect pairing!
Second course was Criques Ardechoises (Galettes made with potatoes and eggs) paired with a glass of Cotes Du Rhone Perrin, Reserve Red. Two of my favorite things are eggs and potatoes and this dish did not disappoint. I also found another wine that I will be adding to my wine fridge at home.
Third course was Daube De Boeuf Au Cornas Served with Vegetables and Fettuccine (Beef Stew made with Cornas Wine) paired with a glass of Domaine Du Mistral, Grignan-les-Adhemar, 2018. All I can say is wow! I have never had anything like this before. This course was delicious! I love at these tastings that I get to find new food loves to add to my list of favorites.
We ended the night with Beignets De Fleurs D'Acacia with a glass of Chateau De Buti Nages, Nimes, Rose. It was the perfect way to finish the night.
Overall it was another amazing tasting! If you are looking to learn French culture, eat some delicious food and try some yummy wine this is the set-up for you!
